WORRIED ABOUT OBAMA
I am getting worried about Barack Obama's Presidency.
His ratings are slipping downhill.
I'm concerned about the people he immediately surrounded himself with, such as Timothy Geithner, Rahm Emanuel, etc. (I won't say what I really feel about them....yet.) I'm afraid he is trying harder to please the Republicans than he is the Democrats, perhaps he fears the Republicans more. I honestly don't think Barack Obama was qualified to be President, although I certainly voted for him. No way could this country have afforded to have John McCain for President. I am pleased that Obama got a Supreme Court appointment so soon and hope he gets 5 more. Although I say that in jest, it is still wishful jesting. I think Obama is trying to be "Mr. Goody 2-Shoes", wants to be all things to all people, doesn't want to hurt any feelings. Too nice and too sensitive for such a tough job. I hope he gets his health care plan through - he has to if he doesn't want his ratings to slide even further - he has to. And the Republicans will fight him because they want him to fail, the country's welfare and well being is not as important to them as regaining power again - so they can give us more Bush. We'll see, I hope and pray his programs are successful and that our country gets out of this horrible mess brought upon us by George W. and his band of crooks. All we can do is wait...and watch...

THE DELUSIONAL BUSHES
JEB BUSH: "My brother was more popular than Barack Obama is.."
At least these people are consistently delusional...
I guess that's common in politics...but even more so with the Bushes....

MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL
By far the most poignant moment of the Michael Jackson Tribute - his daughter Paris.
Now...why did Mariah Carey wear a dress low cut to her belly button....and....why did LaToya wear a hat that covered her face? Just wondering....l

MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL JULY 7, 2009
First, I succesfully entered the lottery for the MJ Memorial. Sencondly, I got a notice from the Staples Center saying "You did not win a ticket". So I watched at home; after all, Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross did, so why not me? It was an elaborate and moving ceremony. I feel pretty sure Michael was flying around with that grin on his face, enjoying every moment. He made a signifigant contribution to music, in America and around the world, and I'm glad he was here during my time on earth. His legend will live in perpetuity, along with Elvis and Marilyn.
But I also have to say that a day long tribute is enough and it is after 5 p.m. here in L.A. and tv is still all Michael all the time. I personally look forward to the local, national and international news every day, not to memtion the cable political talk shows. So far, no go. I will keep channel surfing looking for some news of the day before retiring for the evening. Otherwise, I'll get up tomorrow morninng and try again. Hopefully the all Michael all the time coverage will have at least somewhat subsided by then.

I was a fan of Michael Jackson, but...
I was fortunat enough to get a signed CD set personally signed to me from Michael's business manager just several weeks before he died...MICHAEL JACKSON-THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION

MICHAEL JACKSON
Thank you Tohme Tohme, for the wonderful 4 volume set of CD's of Michael Jackson's "The Ultimate Collection" signed "Love To Woody, Michael Jackson." Of course it is a treasure that I will always keep. Having only gotten it about a month or so before Michael died, I feel I was meant to have it. I, like most people, considered Michael a curiosity as well as a great artist, and was a "fan" in several senses of the word. He was an amazing phenomonon, determined to go after things in his own way, I guess it all amounted to seeking personal fulfillment, even though most people didn't understand it. I'm glad he was acquitted of the charges brought by the 2 children; most people are fair enough to accept the verdict determined in a court of law, and assume Michael was innocent, although we will likely never know exactly what the circustances were. Sometimes I think such great talent and artistry is troublesome to the artist, always seeking fulfillment on a higher level, reaching farther and farther until they fall. There appears to be an inherent sadness in their lives, and fullfillment....and happiness....and sleep...never really come. The same with Elvis.....perhaps no earthly fulfillment was available to them and they were simply "hanging on", just waiting for their "time" to come." With Michael, as with Elvis, the words from "Hamlet" come to mind: "Now cracks a noble heart......Good Night Sweet Prince...And flights of angels sing the to thy rest." Good night Michael....and Thanks.

VILLARAIGOSA WON'T RUN FOR CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR
Villaraigosa is a nice man. However, he has been an ineffective mayor for Los Angeles. I think he is a media glutton, anxious for publicity and the limelight. He lights up under the lights. But he should have been an actor or a sports figure or the star of his own reality show. He has sought religiously to be part of every publicity & photo op in the city & county & state, short of supermarket openings. I think the Mayor is cancelling (or postponing) his bid for governor because he knows he doesn't have a prayer. Why elect someone to leave behind one big mess and move on to take charge of an even bigger mess? I don't think so...

OBAMA THE FLY SWATTER
I for one was flabbergasted when I saw our President kill a fly on his arm, brush it onto the floor and call it a "little sucker" while the camera went close up on the dead fly, lying legs- up on the presidential rug. And my feeling had nothing to do with PETA, nor do they now. I just thought it was distasteful, very unpresidential, and unnecessary. I think it would have been much more dignified and tasteful to simply shoo the fly away and make a joke of it. Especially since they had joked good naturedly about the fly prior to it's sudden demise. It just didn't come off as "good" in any fashion, I think that killing living things on television is inappropriate in any case, especially when the killing is being done by the President of the United States. Sets a bad example. Especially these days when abuse and the inappropriate treatment of animals and children is rampant.

Christians barred from sidewalk handouts at Arab festival (OneNewsNow.com): "Hide Comments"
This is so embarassing. Why do American Christians always have to come off as trouble makers and militants???
They aren't good for much else but demeaning people who disagree with them and causing fights.
If the Arabs don't want Christians handing out leaflets at their event, then so be it. Honor their wishes as you would have yours honored if the situation were reversed and leave them alone. Christians in this country are defeating their own purpose by being so threatening and intolerant of the religious and other views of their fellow Americans and trying to force others into accepting Christian beliefs even though they are often presented in such a hateful, judgemental and hypocritical way. I was raised Christian but I consider my religious beliefs personal and private and unthreatened by others who believe differently. That's the way it should be for all of us, then we would have much less hate and war. Christianity is producing the exact opposite results of what it was intended because of the hateful, petty and selfiish and beligernat behavior of the so called "Christians".

MISS USA, HER TITLE, HER BOOB-JOB AND HER NUDE PHOTOSHER BLOWN UP CAUSE
Of course Miss USA is entitled to her opinion on gay marraige and every and any other subject that arises. I wish Perez had not asked her that question but since he did, I wish he would have just accepted her answer as her honest opinion and let it lie instead of attacking her as he did. We don't always agree with everyone elses opinions/feelings but they certainly are entitled to them as much as we are ours. That being said, I think this woman is a phony and a hypocrite. To say that God wanted her to lose the title to serve his purpose is pure bunk and should be an embarassment to those who's religious beliefs and more sensible and realistic. God has a whole universe to tend to and apparently he hasn't gotten around to correcting the the poverty and hunger on this planet, the child abuse, political corruption, prejudice and hate, and other sad cases of human misguidance too numerous to mention, so I doubt he is chaperoning this strange person, telling her to get her boobs blown up, preach hate and prejudice, etc.. Now this woman claimed to be pure and holy, chosen by God to deliver messages of hope to mankind......so she poses for nude photographs, parades around the stage practically in her bare ass, flaunts her boob implants (I wonder why God wanted her to have fake blown up boobs since she lost anyway.) I don't mean to be mean, but I almost invariably find these Bible-thumping self-proclaimed messengers of God, to be phony plastic hypocrites...ever trying to impose their narrow minded prejudices on other people and using God and the Bible as an excuse. I wonder why God always chooses to communicate to the same mean spirited nut-job people and never to kind peaceful and genuinely loving people. Curious indeed. I hope they take the crown away from this plastic mess (where oh where did she get those humongous teeth?) not because of her personal or political views, but because of her insincerity and hypocricy. She is phony, God does not tell her what "he wants" any more than he does to me or anyone else, and she is drowing in her own
religious fanaticism and social blindness.
