MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL JULY 7, 2009

First, I succesfully entered the lottery for the MJ Memorial. Sencondly, I got a notice from the Staples Center saying "You did not win a ticket". So I watched at home; after all, Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross did, so why not me? It was an elaborate and moving ceremony. I feel pretty sure Michael was flying around with that grin on his face, enjoying every moment. He made a signifigant contribution to music, in America and around the world, and I'm glad he was here during my time on earth. His legend will live in perpetuity, along with Elvis and Marilyn.
But I also have to say that a day long tribute is enough and it is after 5 p.m. here in L.A. and tv is still all Michael all the time. I personally look forward to the local, national and international news every day, not to memtion the cable political talk shows. So far, no go. I will keep channel surfing looking for some news of the day before retiring for the evening. Otherwise, I'll get up tomorrow morninng and try again. Hopefully the all Michael all the time coverage will have at least somewhat subsided by then.
